Mount Baker Junior Boys Volleyball 2007
Provincials – Junior Boys Volleyball
Provincials are being held in Kelowna this weekend of November 22-24.
The following parent drivers have volunteered to transport our team to provincials, Roland Kemperman, Glenn Dobie and Dean Smith.
We will be leaving Cranbrook on Wednesday November 21st at two different times, either at noon or after school. .
We will be returning to Cranbrook on Saturday afternoon November 24th .
Our team will be staying at the Accent Inn in Kelowna on Wednesday evening, 250.862.8888.
For the remainder of the championship we will be staying at the Coast Capri, 250.860.6185.
With a view of maximizing participation and minimizing cost for Grade 10 volleyball players at Mount Baker this year, I have set out the following policies.

There will be two teams formed from the 22 athletes that have come out for the Mount Baker team this year. Every effort will be made to find games and tournaments for both teams. The first few tournaments will see evenly divided teams to allow every athlete a fair chance of demonstrating their skill and abilities.·
There will eventually be a team named to travel to the Lethbridge tournament on the weekend of October 12th and the Provincial Championships in Burnaby on November 23rd. Athletes not named to the Provincial Tournament team will be named to the East Kootenay Championship team for the weekend of November 30th.·
In a continued effort to keep costs at a minimum, parent drivers will be required for several of the tournaments.·
The participation fee for each player will be $40.00 [in addition to the Mt. Baker athletic fee of $40.00] that includes the season travelling costs and tournament entries. For those players travelling to the Lethbridge tournament there will be an additional cost of $75.00 each, which includes accommodation, travel costs and the tournament entry. For those players travelling to Burnaby there will be an additional cost of $150.00 that again includes travel costs, three nights accommodation and the tournament entry fee. If any money is left over at the end of the season it will be divided evenly and refunded to the athletes.Our season schedule is as follows:
Sept. 21 Creston Both teams
Oct. 12 Lethbridge One team (parent drivers required)
Oct. 19 Jaffray One team (parent drivers required
Oct. 26 Laurie One team
Nov. 2 Mount Baker Both teams (home tournament)
Nov. 16 Kimberley One team (parent drivers required)
Nov. 23 Burnaby Provincial Championships (parent drivers required)
Nov. 30 Jaffray EK Championships (parent drivers required)
There will also be at least one play night set up with teams from Jaffray and/or Kimberley.
