All trilobites pictured below are from the Cranbrook area and are Late Cambrian in age.

The paired specimen on the left is bizarre. The macro-pleural spines are exactly overlapped but the left side is on top and the right side is underneath, so this is not a case of accidental superimposition. Plus the pygidium of each trilobite is matched as they are bent down into the matrix. The right side picture is a complete specimen of the same type. Thought to be a new species. Site 10. Prep work by the inimitable Dave Comfort.

This specimen with the spiny pygidium on the left was found near the layers of rock that produce another "spinytail", Orygmaspis contracta. The genal spines, the anterior facial sutures and the length of the preglabellar fields are said to be different however. Possible new species. Site 1. Prep work by the inimitable Dave Comfort. I don't have a clue about the trilobite on the right from the same layers of rock.

Moustache guy from Site 1. A tiny trilobite can barely be seen at the bottom left.

Thought to be a possible new genus. Site 7
